During the June NHCS board meeting, several IBEC students were recognized for their outstanding research projects throughout this year.
CONGRATULATIONS to our winners at the state level National History Day competition who have advanced to the national competition this June at the University of Maryland College Park:
Lily Atwill (2nd place Individual Documentary)
Anah Stough and Kayligrace Moody (2nd place Group Performance)
Valeria Valdiri and Aynsley Tryon also won 3rd in Group Exhibit and will serve as alternates for nationals if either of the 1st and 2nd place winners in that category can't attend.
CONGRATULATIONS to Isabel Garcia who represented Isaac Bear at the 2025 NC Science and Engineering Fair, where she was selected as a 2025 Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) Finalist. Isabel represented our school and the entire state of North Carolina at the science fair in Colombus, Ohio on May 11-16.

FTCA students attended the Future Teacher Conference at UNCW on Friday 15th November. This year's event brought together students from 15 schools in Southeast North Carolina, where they shared ideas about the future of education in our state.

Electronic Registration for Fall Driver's Ed classes will occur on September 11th at 8 AM. Students are to register for the PM class which will meet at IBECHS from 9/30-10/28. Students must be 14 and one-half years of age to register. Please register when the link below goes live at 8am on September 11th on the IBECHS website.

-Week One 9/30- 10/03: Monday. Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 4:15 PM- 6:30 PM.
-Week Two 10/07-10/10: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday 4:15 PM- 6:30 PM
-Week Three: 10/14-10/17: Monday. Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 4:15 PM- 6:30 PM
-Week Four: 10/21- 10/24: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday 4:15 PM-6:30 PM
-Week Five (if needed): 10/28 4:15 PM-6:30 PM
